Chest BindersChest binding is a way for many trans and gender non conforming folxs to curb dysphoria, and is a fairly common step in transitioning. “Binding” refers to flattening breast tissue to create a male-appearing chest using a variety of materials and methods.

TransTape

TransTape is an alternative to using a compression binder that does not use compression; instead, a body-safe cloth tape is used to pull the chest underneath the armpits and stick them there against the skin.

PackersA packer is a realistic or semi-realistic looking penis made out of material like silicone (or even just a rolled up sock). It should be soft enough to sit comfortably against the body. Packing is about the shape it creates, or about feeling comfortable and confident, or just because you want to.

Tuck Kits by Unclockable

Tucking is a technique whereby an individual hides the crotch bulge of the penis and testicles so that they are not conspicuous through clothing.

Bra Buds by Unclockable

Bra Buds are silicone bra inserts specifically designed for Trans Women. They provide a natural-looking feminine silhouette while offering comfort and confidence. These inserts measure 5.1 inches. Hypoallergenic, latex-free, and non-irritating.


Gender-Affirming Gear Application

Gender affirming products are available for youth and young adults (24 or under) who live in the state of South Carolina at no cost thanks to our generous partners!

If you are not from South Carolina, you may still apply however priority is given to youth in southern states.

Quick Answers to common questions about our gender-affirming program

Do you offer discreet Shipping?

All orders are shipped via USPS. The shipping will read “WAF, Thrift". Whenever you filled out the application, we ask that you need to include the name you go by at the location we will be sending this to you. Once the item ships to you, you will get an email with the tracking number. We do not accept request for packages to be delivered in certain areas or hidden. Please coordinate with your local post office or arrange a packing intercept with USPS.

Send us a DM on social media! We share your feedback with our funders and partners to show them the impact they make on this program! (When we share your messages, we will black out your name and image for your Safety and privacy).

Not sure about my sizing, can I guess?

NO! We highly recommend NOT guessing on your sizes because we will send you the item you requested based on the measurements you provide. If you are not sure of your sizes, ask a friend to measure you or visit us in store and we will be happy to measure you!

Can I get 2 chest binders?

No. You may only get ONE of each Gender affirming item per quarter if the item you are requesting is available. For example, you may get ONE chest binder and ONE Packer per quarter, just remember to apply for each item!

How long until I get my order?

Gender Affirming items are highly requested and we are a small staff at We Are Family, therefore it may take us a while to reach out to you about your request. Once you apply for an item, you are in our queue and we will reach out to you via email once we have an item for you!

Is chest binding safe?

Yes! Throughout history, Chest Binding has been a thing! From wearing Corsets to Japanese kimonos. If you do get a chest binder from us, we will send you information on how to take care of your new chest binder!

How difficult is it to get a Chest binder on or off?

If you get the right size chest binder (if you provided the right measurements) it should come off like a regular shirt!

The item I got does not fit me! What do I do?

Don’t panic! Give us a call at (843)637-9379 or email us at closetcasethrift@waf.org and we will try to send you a new item!

I have a gender-affirming item I would like to donation, can I do that?

YES! This program is ran by donations from community members and your partners. You may drop off your donation at Closet Case Thrift Store or mail you item to us.
