Are you ready to bloom with us?
Three SC LGBTQ+ organizations - Harriet Hancock Center, Uplift Outreach, and We Are Family - are coming together to expand wellness services and hybrid programming to rural and BIPOC LGBTQ+ youth across SC! LGBTQ+ youth in SC experience many health disparities due to discrimination and lack of access to affirming care/services. All LGBTQ+ young people deserve access to health and wellness resources, so we are scaling programs to reach LGBTQ+ youth most impacted by lack of healthcare access across South Carolina - with a focus on reaching LGBTQ+ youth across SC most impacted by HIV. All LGBTQ+ young people deserve care from their community.

LGBTQ+ youth in SC experience many health disparities due to discrimination and lack of access to affirming care/services. To combat this, each organization will integrate sexual health and wellness education, including HIV prevention, into their existing programs and community events.

Too often, LGBTQ+ community members are isolated from care and health services. All youth engaged in our group services will be provided case management and linkages to care. To expand networks of care, we will provide additional support and follow-up to ensure youth gain access to programs/services and to address other needs/concerns. These include but are not limited to MHAP’s free short-term therapy, local affirming healthcare providers, and local health service organizations, especially for HIV care.
